If you’ve got a story to tell about people of passion, I’m your writer. Crafts, textiles, and those who create them are my frequent topics, but for 13 years I was a writer and editor for the University of Iowa, covering subjects ranging from wind turbines to architectural history to student athletes. In that role, I worked closely with graphic designers and writers to envision and oversee publications for alumni, students and their parents, and faculty and staff members. My writing has appeared in national magazines for more than two decades. I know the importance of deadlines. And I’m handy with a camera, shooting engaging photos to accompany my writing.

And for more than three years on Pearl the Squirrel, I’ve shared stories of crafting triumphs and mishaps, as well as provided thoughtful commentary on life as a mother, wife, writer, friend, and woman of a certain age.

I’ve told their stories and many more. Getting to know an individual—learning about their everyday lives and uncovering their passions—fascinates me. I love nothing more than sharing that with readers. Read a sampling of my profiles.
